USACS offers several ways to supplement your medical plan coverage. This additional insurance can help cover unexpected expenses, and you can use the benefits however you need to, like for deductibles, copays, or coinsurance, or day-to-day expenses like your mortgage or car payment. Accident Coverage

You can’t always prevent accidents, but you can be prepared for them. Accident coverage through Unum provides benefits for you and your covered family members for expenses related to an accidental injury.

The Accident insurance plan pays cash benefits to help with costs associated with out-of-pocket expenses and bills in the event of a covered accident:

• Emergency treatment – $150
• Hospital admission – $1,000
• Intensive care unit – $400/day
• Ambulance transportation – $400
• Injuries – varies (for a schedule of payments for fractures, dislocations, lacerations, burns, etc.)

Critical Illness Coverage

Critical Illness coverage through Unum pays a lump-sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered disease or condition. Covered benefits are paid at 100% of your elected benefit amount (unless otherwise noted)

• Occupational HIV
• Cerebral Palsy
• Cleft Lip or Palate
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Down Syndrome
• Spina Bifida

Hospital Indemnity Coverage

Hospital Indemnity coverage through Unum pays you cash benefits directly if you are admitted to the hospital or an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a covered stay.
